Given that sound travels in air at 340 m/s, find the wavelength of the waves in air produced by a 20kHz sound source. If the same source is put in a water tank, what would be the wavelength of the sound waves in water? Speed of sound in water = 1,480 m/s.

here is your answer ...
wavelength = velocity / frequency
hope it helps !!;

SPEED OF SOUND IN AIR : 340 m/s

FREQUENCY = 20khz = 20000hz

FORMULA= SPEED= DISTANCE/TIME = WAVELENGTH/TIME = WAVE LENGTH x FREQUENCY

BECAUSE FREQUENCY= 1/TIME

WAVE LENGTH= SPEED/FREQUENCY

=(340/20000)M=(34000/20000)CM=

1.7CM

SPEED OF SOUND IN WATER=1,480 m/s

speed=wave length x frequency

wave length= speed/frequency

=(1480/20000)m=(148000/20000)cm=

7.4cm
