to find :-

range of the variable x

solution:-

let's solve the inequality.

===> \tt -5 &lt; 3 +4x &lt;15

subtract 3 from each and every expression.

===> \tt -5-3 &lt;3-3+4x &lt;15-3

===> \tt -8&lt;4x &lt;12

divide 4 from the above equation,

===> \tt \dfrac {-8}{4}&lt; \dfrac {4x}{4} &lt; \dfrac{12}{4}

===> \tt -2 &lt; x &lt; 3
