Honey bee sting releases an acid which causes pain and irritation. Use of mild base like baking soda on the stung area gives relief.

biswadipsarkar6: Yes Bella exactly right you are...when Baking Soda applied on the wounded area of our skin stung by a Honey Bee,a white secretion is often seen, coming out. That is a sort of weak acid of medium pH level i think..:)

ACTUALLY FRIEND, THERE ARE TWO ANSWER FOR THIS QUESTION.The answers are BAKING SODA and VINEGAR. Previous year i got stung by a bee.My mother prepared a mixture of baking soda , vinegar and added some water to make it a paste and applied it.It was a remedy suggested by my grandma. This remedy is very effective.
