Glass has a hardness that is in the middle of the hardness scale. What is the hardness of Glass?

Glass ranks around 5.5 to 7 Mohs, but sapphire crystal has a hardness of 9 Mohs, making it only slightly less hard than diamond.

they are made by melting of potassium carbonate, calcium carbonate and silica.
