*Under this movement, some 300 Vietnameses students went to Japan to acquire education.
* The prime objective was to drive out the French from Vietnam, overthrow the puppet emperor and re-establish NGuyen dynasty that had been deposed by the French.
* Vietnamese students established a branch of the restoration society in Tokyo.

Go-east (Dong Du) movement was started in 1907-1908. It was started to throw the French out of Vietnam. About 300 Vietnamese students went to Japan to get help as they want foreign help. They have close relations with Japan so they go to Japan to get help. They were against the sucess of Russia in 1907. Unfortunately, the results were unsuccessful. The Vietnamese were expelled by Japan.However, the long term results were to give focus to the desire to overthrow thr French, in turn, led to the Vietnamese war.
