G'o' phase is aka resting phase or quiescent stage.
Few cells such as cardiac , muscle and nerve cells jumps into G'o' phase just after G1 phase.
In this stage metabolism of cells remains very slow [ i.e. no protein synthesis and no DNA replication] but they will jump into S- phase only on demand
