Heya!

Here is your answer!
==========================================================

For starters,

What are noble metals?

See, a noble metal is a metal that resists chemical action, does not corrode and can stop most acid attacks.

So if we take the case of gold and platinum comparing with noble metals, they are less reactive..just like noble gases.

Also they're almost at the last place in the electro chemical series which denotes their low reactivity.

 These metals cannot react with air water and acids and these metals are malleable and ductile. Due to these properties these metals are called noble metals.

This proves that Gold and platinum are called noble elements.

Hey there!!

Thank u for asking good question ?
Before understanding this let us figure out what noble elements are?
Ok,
What is noble element -

It is a type of element which doesn't react with other oxident thing and remain constant

For example - Gold (Ag) and platinum (Pt) ( also known as hardest metal according to its physical face) which are less reactive , if u remember many of the jewelry are made up of gold Now question raise, why do we use?
Ok , dont worry , it is because thses elements are not corroded but why ? It is because it doesn't eaten away by the atmospheric agents like water ,air (oxygen) etc
thats shows , it is not reactive metals

Hope this helps u!!
