Gold, silver and platinum are all elements. These and many more elements occur in a free state in nature because that is the nature of nature. Gold and platinum are not subject to too much oxidation as they occur in nature. Most of the 106 elements in the periodic table of elements exist freely in nature. One element that rarely occurs in nature is aluminium. It is a component of bauxite and has to be extracted with high voltage electricity

they exist in free state.

This is because metals like platinum, gold and silver are noble metals, they do not easily mix with impurities such as silica, potassium etc. And even if they do mix it can be easily separated by adding a acid to it.Hence, these metals are present in free state.
