gold is found in pure state in nature but not in the iron,why?

Answer: Gold is a non reactive metal . ... It can form compounds more easily and is hence placed above hydrogen in the reactivity series.It is mostly found in the form of iron oxide after reacting with oxygen and water . So , Gold is found in free state but iron is not.
