Gold ornaments do not change their appearance on exposure to air where as silver ornaments appear black after sometime
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
gold and silver both are least reactive metals but silver reacts with air to some extent after a long time

silver reacts with moisture to form a layer which is
Ag2S

Ag2S is a black layer of the silver which is because of the corrosion of silver
and this layer can be removed easily by using soaps etc , even in home

whereas gold does not react with air or moisture very easily it takes a very long time , generally years to get corroded and the corrosion will not be to the extent of that of copper , gold may just lose its outer shine

Heya...

==== Answer ====

Gold ornaments don't change their appearance on exposures to air whereas silver ornaments do..

Reason :-

Generally both don't change easily..but silver get react some fast than gold and react with moisture to form a corrisoni named Ag2s ...

It's a black layer in silver that can easily removed by soaps and at all...

But gold metal take too much long time to react with air and remained unchanged long time...

Thank you
