FLASH BACK FROM CLASS IX

a systematic record of facts for different values of a quantity is called data

Features of the data

>= statistics deals with collection presentation analysis and interpretation of numerical data.

>= arranging data in order to study their salient feature is called presentation data

>= data arrange in ascending or descending order is called array data or an array

>= range of the data is the difference between the maximum and the minimum values of the observations

>=table that shows the frequency of a different values in the given data is code of frequency distribution table

>= a frequency distribution table that shows the frequency of a each individual value in the given data is called and ungrouped frequency distribution table

>=a table that shows the frequency of a group of values in the given data is called a grouped frequency distribution table

>= the group the group is used to group the values in given data are called classes for class interval the number of value that each class contain is called the class size of class with the lower value in a class is called the lower class limit the higher value in a class is called upper class limit

>= class mark of class is the mid value of the two limits of that class

>= a frequency distribution in which the upper limit of one class difference from the lower limit of the class is called inclusive or discontinuous frequency distribution

>= a frequency distribution in which the upper limit of one class inside from the lower limit of the class is called an exclusive or continuous frequency distribution

Bar graph

a bar graph is a pictorial representation of data in which rectangular bar of uniform with a Drone with equal spacing between them on 1X is usually the x-axis the value of the variable is shown on the other Axis that is the y-axis.

Histogram

A Histogram set of adjacent angles whose areas are proportional to the frequencies of the given continuous frequency distribution

Mean

the mean value of variable is defined as the sum of all the values variable divided by a number of values
m =   \frac{a1 + a2 +  a3 + a4}{4} =  \frac{a}{n}
FOR ME MEDIAN AND MODE ARE DIFFICULT

MEDIAN

the median of a set of a data values is the middle value of the data set when it has been arranged in ascending order that is from the smallest value of the highest value median is calculated as
 \frac{1}{2} (n + 1)
Where n is the number of values in the data if the number of values in the data set is even then the median is the average of the to middle value

MODE

mode of a statistical data is the value of the way that variable which has a maximum frequency

Statistics is one of the branch of mathematics...We all learn about mean , median and mode also known as measure of central tendency....Bar graph , Histograph , pie chart , ogive curve in our schooling...

But its not learning...we all actually prepare for our exam to get good marks..thats it...

We just learn how to calculate mean and its formulas..and draw graph and all...

But we people actually forget to learn about the science behind the topics...

Have you ever think what actually a MEAN is ?

We generally use this Simple Single word ' MEAN ' it our daily life....
Remember when someone ask about your result , you simply reply its 80% or 60%...here you dont need to tell about the marks of all subject...
The simple number here 80 or 60 is nothing just a MEAN...

Mean and Average are same...and there are so many applications on it...

Statistics is all about data...We have two types of data here...Primary and secondary...

1) Primary data
=============
Primary data are the raw data which we collect directly from the any entity...which mean here we do not use any kind of source to collect a particular data....For example - If i want to know about weight of students of your school of class IXth only...then i visit each class and measure the weight of each student using weighing scale...
Such data are primary data....

Why do i need this data here ???

I use this data to take out INFORMATION...

Suppose in Section - C of class IXth student , I found most of the students are overweight....it means there needs a take care of such students else they suffer serious diseases....

This is why we need data to analyse and take out such information...

Secondary data
==============
Secondary data is the one when we need a source to collect it...like if i want to know about rainfall in my city..then it is not easy to collect by an individual by any instrument...it needs a source...which is an INTERNET...

Once data is being collected then it is arranged and distributed as discrete and group ( continuous or Class - Intervals ) form ....
