We need to breed 2 superior quality of plants ie. a superior male with a superior female together it may be achieve through outbreeding or through inbreeding and is done through artificial hybridization techniques. Then the progeny can be self fertilized until they reach the state of homozygosity ie. a state where the characters can not get segeregated..

So before all these techniques we need to collect desirable variabilities such that the hybrid contain all the desired qualities.

If these techniques fails then we can also go for tissue culture technique.

Nowadays desired genes are also being added to the plants in order to get the desired quality plants...
