Good morning ✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️

Terrycot is a fibre made from the mixture of two fibres:------

A. COTTON which is a natural plant fibre. Its scientific name is Gossypium spp. It has soft, fluffy staple fiber that grows in a boll, or protective casing on the plant.

B. TERYLENE which is a polymer of 1. Ethylene Glycol 2. Terephthalic Acid.

Terylene is a synthetic fibre used for making clothes. It is elastic, highly durable, wrinkle-free.The acid is benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid (old name: terephthalic acid). The alcohol is ethane-1,2-diol (old name: ethylene glycol).

Used in the production of towels. It is also used to make bathrobes. It is used in swimsuit cover-ups. Due to its softness, it is also used in the towel-robe production for babies.
