♣ Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴ :

Find the remainder when p(x)= x³ - 6x² + 2x - 4  when divided by 1 - 2x

♣ ᴀɴꜱᴡᴇʀ :

p(x) = x³ - 6x² + 2x - 4

Let f(x) = 1 - 2x

Put f(x) = 0

f(x) = 1 -2x = 0

or ,2x = 1

or, x = 1/2

Put x=1/2 in p(x)

Now putting the value in equation , p(1/2) = (1/2)³ - 6(1/2)² + 2(1/2) - 4

= 1/8 - 3/2 -3

= \bf{\dfrac{1-12-24}{8}}

= \boxed{\bf{\dfrac{-35}{8}}}
