Hey there!!
So..Multicellular organisms are complex organisms and they have specialized organs and organs system. Just the breaking or regeneration of organism and asexual reproduction will not be able to reproduce the complex kind of multicellular organisms.
Other reason is simple reproduction methods like asexual reproduction doesn't generate genetic variation as the progeny from asexual reproduction will be exactly like parent. Sexual reproduction will produce more genetic variation. Variation helps in the survival of the species by creating adaptations according to the changing environments, so they undergo more complex ways of reproduction i.e. sexual reproduction.
Hope it helps!!

Answer: Multicellular organisms cannot reproduce by cell because they are not simple random collection of cells. ... Moreover, simple multicellular organisms possess special type of tissues which have the potential to grow into a new organism but complex multicellular organisms have no such specialised cells.
