Explanation−
According to the question we know that the shopkeeper takes out one fish at random from a tank containing 5 male fish and 8 female fish
Now,
First we need to find the number of total fish
so,
total number of fish = number of male fish and number of female fish
we know that number of male fish = 5
and, the number of female fish = 8
then,
the total number of fish = 5 + 8 => 13
so, the total number of fish = 13
Now,
we know that formula probability of getting a male fish is = number of favorable outcome / number of total possible outcomes
=> 5 /13
Hence, The probability of getting a male fish is 5/13
Solution :-
No. of male fish in the tank = 5
No. of female fish in the tank = 8
Total number of fish in the tank = 5 + 8
= 13
Favourable number events = 5
Probability of taking out a male fish = 5 / 13
