Govindgiri was a religious and social reformist in the Adivasi-controlled frontier territories of present-day Gujarat and Rajasthan in the early 1900s. He made efforts to spread the Bhagat movement that began in the 18th century. He envisages the founding of a Bhil Raj (Bhil land) in the foothills of Banswara and Sunth states, replacing a Bhil rule that survived 800 years back.
