Enrichment Project: Natural Disaster

Every year natural disasters occur and this cause loss of life, property and people.
Natural disasters include earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, landslides,
hurricanes, floods, wildfires, heat waves and droughts. They have an immediate
impact on human lives and often result in the destruction of the physical, biological
and social environment of the affected people, thereby having a longer-term impact on
their health, well-being and survival.
As part of the enrichment project for grade 5, students will create a lap book with the
details mentioned below:
 Name of the disaster
 Places around the world they occur
 How frequently they occur
 Why they occur
 How they are formed and caused
 How we can prepare, act and survive
such events
 The effects of the disaster on living
and non-living parts of our environment
Students can select any one of the disasters mentioned
