Answer :-

Grafted kidneys may be rejected in a patient due to cell-mediated immune responses.

Extra Information :-

  • The phenomenon of cell-mediated immune responses is carried out by "T - Lymphocytes".

  • Transplants/Grafts can be carried out with the kidneys which have the same sort of tissue arrangement as that of the patient.

  • The matching of blood groups of the donor and the patient must be ensured before conducting the process of transplantation.

  • After the completion of the process of transplantation, the patient is required to take immuno-suppresants till the end of his/her life because the immune system of the patient's body doesn't accept inferior cells and tissues inside the body and tries to destroy those tissues.
