Given:

Graph between log x/m and log p is straight line at an angle 45° with intercept on y axis 0.3010.

To find:

Calculate the amount of gas adsorbed in gram per gram of the adsorbent when pressure is 0.2atm

Solution:

From given, we have,

Graph between log x/m and log p is straight line at an angle 45° with intercept on y axis 0.3010.

tan 45° = 1/n

1 = 1/n

n = 1

log k = 0.3010

The intercept, k = 2

The pressure, p = 0.2 atm

we use the formula,

x/m = kp^{1/n}

x/m = 2 * 0.2^{1/1} = 2 * 0.2 = 0.4

Therefore, the amount of gas adsorbed in gram per gram of the adsorbent when pressure is 0.2atm is 0.4
