Then gravitational force becomes

F=Gm1.m2/r^2

F = 2N

when the distance between the masses is half

R’ = r/2

F’ = Gm1.m2/R’^2

F’ = Gm1.m2/(r/2)^2

F’ = 4 F

F’ = 8N

Gravitational force increases by 4 times
