Answer:

The force of gravitational attraction between the two bodies of mass (M) and (m) is F=G

r

2

Mm

.

Now, If masses of both objects are halved without changing distance between them or M=

2

M

and m=

2

m

Now, F=G

4r

2

Mm

.

Thus, force becomes one-fourth as we reduce the masses to half without altering the distances.

Given that ,

The gravitational force between two bodies is 2000 N

We know that , the gravitational force between two objects is given by

  \large \sf\fbox{F  = G \frac{ m_{1}m_{2} }{ {(r)}^{2} } }

Thus ,

</p><p>\sf \Rightarrow 2000  = G \frac{ m_{1}m_{2} }{ {(r)}^{2} }

Let , the new gravitational force b/w two bodies be " F' " when distance is halved

Then ,

</p><p>\sf \Rightarrow F' = G \frac{ m_{1}m_{2} }{ {( \frac{r}{2} )}^{2} }  \\  \\</p><p>\sf \Rightarrow  F' = 4 \times G \frac{ m_{1}m_{2} }{ {( r)}^{2} } \\  \\</p><p>\sf \Rightarrow  F' =4 \times 2000 \:  \:  \:  \{   \because G \frac{ m_{1}m_{2} }{ {(r)}^{2} }  = 2000\} \\  \\</p><p>\sf \Rightarrow  F' =8000 \:  \: N

 \sf \therefore \underline{The \:  new  \: gravitational  \: force \: between \: two \: bodies \:  is  \: 8000 \:  N}
