Given : Gravitational force between two objects of mass 1 kg each is F. Initially, the distance between them is d.

The distance between them is increased to 2d, then the gravitational force between them becomes nF.

To Find :   the value of n

Solution:

F  = Gm₁.m₂/r²

m₁ = m₂ = 1 kg

r = d

G = Gravitational constant

F = G(1)(1)/d²

=> F = G/d²

The distance between them is increased to 2d

nF = G(1)(1)/(2d)²

=> nF = G/4d²

=> nF = (1/4)( G/d²)

=> nF = (1/4)F

=> n = 1/4

the value of n is  1/4
