Gravity is a function of mass. The mass difference between one body and another must be astronomical in order for there to be a physical attraction (no pun intended). For example, the mass difference between the Earth and a human being is so large that the human is attracted to the planet.

The mass difference between the Earth and the Sun is so large that the Earth is attracted to the Sun. The centrifugal force of the Earth revolving around the Sun keeps the Earth from colliding with it. The mass difference between a human and a building is large, but by comparison, it is very small, too. It's all relative.

i guess gravity is enforced by the earth itself and not by a being or an object...... another cause is also that there is no object present on earth which can outlimit earth's current gravitational force so all matter present on earth sticks to earth itself

to give u a better explanation ...... suppose if a blackhole was to approach earth at dangerous limits, all the matter "including earth itself" would be attracted towards the black hole cause it will outlimit the earth's gravitational potential
