Green cleaning refers to using cleaning methods and products with environmentally friendly ingredients ae procedures which are designed to preserve human he and environmental quality. To preserve the environment and do in this manner, Ramesh made a slide in a park which is situated in his society. One of its side walls has been painted in some colour with a message KEEP THE PARK GREEN AND CLEAN" (see figure). If the sides of the wall are 15 m, 11 m and 6 m, then give answer the questions by looking at the figure.

  • The side of the wall is  11m , 6 m , 15m

To find :

  1. semi perimeter of triangle
  2. type of triangle form
  3. area of the wall
  4. cost of paint if price is 8 per m^2

solution :

formula to be used :

  1. semi perimeter of triangle = \frac{a+b+c}{2}
  2. area of triangle by herons formula = \sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

sol 1)

a = 11m

b=6m

c=15m

semi perimeter of triangle = \frac{11+6+15}{2} = 16m

sol 2)

  • It is a scalene triangle because all sides are of different length .

sol 3)

area of triangle = \sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

area of triangle = \sqrt{16(16-11)(16-6)(16-15)} = \sqrt{800}m^{2}  = 20\sqrt{2} m^{2}

sol 4)

cost of paint per m^2 = 8 rs

cost of paint 20\sqrt{2} m^{2} = 20\sqrt{2} * 8=226.2 rs
