In sociology, socialisation is the process ofinternalising the norms and ideologies ofsociety. Socialization encompasses both learning and teaching and is thus "the means by which social and cultural continuity are attained".[1]:5[2] Socialization is strongly connected to developmental psychology.[3]Humans need social experiences to learn their culture and to survive.[4] Socialization essentially represents the whole process of learning throughout the life course and is a central influence on the behavior, beliefs, and actions of adults as well as of children.[

"Essential mechanisms of sociallisation".

The term "group" is amorphous and can refer to a wide range of gatherings, from two people (think of a "group project" in school when you partner with another student), to a club, a regular gathering of friends, or people who work together or share a hobby. In a nutshell, the term refers to any group of at least two people who interact on a regular basis and share a sense that their identity is somehow aligned with the group. Of course, every gathering of people is not necessarily a group.
