Trees, especially drought-tolerant, native species, also provide critical services that directly attack some of the consequences of drought. Tree cover also prevents evaporation from rivers, reservoirs and soil, saving water for drinking and agriculture. Tree cover shades and cools the surrounding area

Soil absorbs water and tree roots has the property of absorbing water so when it absorbs water then it will keep the the ground water level high by which the soil will be wet and there would be no dry lands that would allow the situations of droughts so that's how by growing more and more trees can prevent droughts.
