Gurmeet Singh is known as “Patna’s Samartian”. He has been helping patients who have been abandoned in a ward which is known as “Lawaaris Ward” in "Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH)" for the past twenty years.. He would visit the hospital with food packets, feed the patients who are in an infection filled and rodents filled ward. He would then take the medical slip and buy the required medicines from his own money for every patient there. He was awarded “World Sikh Award “in London on November 19, 2016.

Gurmeet Singh goes to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) to serve food and give pharmaceuticals to patients at the supposed surrendered or lawaaris ward. He helped individuals wholeheartedly and was giving endlessly charity to the general population who were in need.
On his way to the clinic, he stops at a little restaurant where he grabs food for the patients who have been disposed of at the lawaris ward.
