Summary :-

The poem ''The Cold Within'' is about the selfishness and vices of human beings and the consequences of it. As we know that human beings have created several divisions among themselves and if we keep discriminating against each other, the world will end soon. The poem reflects the degeneration of humanity.

The poet recalls a tale of six persons caught together in the grip of a severe winter. He foreshadows their fate by describing the bunch as hopeless.

At last, it is said that, it was not the cold weather outside that killed them, it was the cold in their hearts — the cold within.
