Given :

  • Area of room is 65 1/4 m² .
  • Breadth of room is 5 7/16 m .

To Find :

  • Length of the room .

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Area=65\dfrac{1}{4}\:{m}^{2}}

\longmapsto\tt{Breadth=5\dfrac{7}{16}\:m}

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{Area\:of\:Rectangle=l\times{b}}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{65\dfrac{1}{4}=l\times{5\dfrac{7}{16}}}

\longmapsto\tt{\dfrac{261}{4}=l\times\dfrac{87}{16}}

\longmapsto\tt{\dfrac{261}{4}\div{\dfrac{87}{16}}=l}

\longmapsto\tt{\dfrac{\dfrac{261}{4}}{\dfrac{87}{16}}=l}

\longmapsto\tt{\dfrac{261\times{16}}{4\times{87}}=l}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{12\:m=l}

So , The Length of the room is 12 m .

Option d ) 12 m is Correct .

Answer:

Given :-

  • The area of a room is 65 ¼ m². If its breadth is 5 7/16 metres.

To Find :-

  • What is the length of a room.

Formula Used :-

\clubsuit Area Of Rectangle Formula :

\footnotesize\mapsto \sf\boxed{\bold{\pink{Area_{(Rectangle)} =\: Length \times Breadth}}}

Solution :-

Let,

\leadsto \bf Length_{(Room)} =\: x\: m

Given :

\bigstar\: \: \sf Area =\: 65\dfrac{1}{4}\: m

\implies \sf\bold{\purple{Area =\: \dfrac{261}{4}\: m}}

\bigstar\: \: \sf Breadth =\: 5\dfrac{7}{16}\: m

\implies \sf\bold{\purple{Breadth =\: \dfrac{87}{16}\: m}}

According to the question by using the formula we get,

\longrightarrow \sf x \times \dfrac{87}{16} =\: \dfrac{261}{4}

\longrightarrow \sf x =\: \dfrac{261}{4} \div \dfrac{87}{16}

\longrightarrow \sf x =\: \dfrac{\dfrac{261}{4}}{\dfrac{87}{16}}

\longrightarrow \sf x =\: \dfrac{261}{4} \times \dfrac{16}{87}

\longrightarrow \sf x =\: \dfrac{264 \times \cancel{16}}{\cancel{4} \times 87}

\longrightarrow \sf x =\: \dfrac{264 \times 4}{1 \times 87}

\longrightarrow \sf x =\: \dfrac{1056}{87}

\longrightarrow \sf x =\: 12.14

\longrightarrow \sf x \approx 12

\longrightarrow \sf\bold{\green{x =\: 12\: m}}

Hence, the length of the room is :

\longrightarrow \sf Length_{(Room)} =\: x\: m

\longrightarrow \sf\bold{\red{Length_{(Room)} =\: 12\: m}}

{\small{\bold{\underline{\therefore\: The\: length\: of\: the\: room\: is\: 12\: m\: .}}}}

Hence, the correct options is option no (d) 12 m .
