• The constitution has provided the previlige of protection and security to the people of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).

• Reservation category is available for them in the educational sector , job sector and various other aspects of the society.

• A five year welfare program has been initiated by the state governments for the betterment of the people belonging to these categories.
