GUYS PLZ HELP ME .....................ASAP.............................
A tuning fork of frequency 480 Hz is used in an experiment for measuring speed of sound (v) in air by resonance tube method. Resonance is observed to occur at two successive lengths of the air column, l₁ = 30 cm and l₂ = 70 cm

Answer:

384m/s

Explanation:

v=2f(L2 −L1 )

v=2×480×(70−30)×10 −2

v=960×40×10 −2

v=38400×10 −2 m/s

v=384m/s

We know that , in standing wave with two fixed end

L=nx/2

where n is constant and x is wavelength

so,

nx/2=.30....i)

other successive length =(n+1)×x/2

so

nx/2+x/2=.70...ii)

putting value of nx/2 in second we get

x/2=.40

x=.8

and we know

speed=frequency×wavelngth

speed(v)=480×0.8

=384
