let x be hari's age
first we have
2x+5
then
10x-13
lastly
3(2x+5)
if we arrange eq 2 and 3 (because both are suresh's age)
3(2x+5)=10x-13
-4x=-28
therefore x= 7
putting the value of x on eq 1
we get
hema's age to be 19 years

Answer:

∴ Age of Hema = 19years

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Hema's age is 5 years more than twice Hari's age

Suresh's age is 13 years less than 10 times Hari's age

Suresh is 3 times as old as Hema

To find,

Hema's age

Solution:

Let 'x' be Hema's age

'y' be Hari's age

'z' be Suresh's age

Since Hema's age is 5 years more than twice Hari's age, we have

x = 5 +2y ------------------(1)

Since Suresh's age is 13 years less than 10 times Hari's age

z = 10y -13 ----------------(2)

Since Suresh is 3 times as old as Hema

z = 3x -----------------(3)

Multiply (1) by 3 we get

3x = 3(5 +2y)

3x = 15 +6y

Substitute the value of 3x from (3) we get

z = 15 +6y --------------(4)

Equating (4) and (2) we get

15+6y = 10y -13

4y = 28

y = 7

From (1),

x = 5 +2y = 5+2×7 = 19

x = 19

∴ Age of Hema = 19years
