hai i have some doubts in eng

1.what is the part of speech of kept and the?

2.the hungry lion roars-is the sentence-we have to pick the verb and write what kind of sentence it is (like transitive,intransitiveor VIP)

if roars is the verb and the hungry lion is the subject then the sentence is SV . then wht kind of sentence is it of verb
