Half of a herd of deer are grazing in the field and three fourths of the remaining are
playing nearby. The rest 7 are drinking water from the pond. Find the number of deer
in the herd.

so, no of deer in grazing is x/2.

and remaining no. of deer is x/2, now no of deer who are playing =3/4×x/2= 3x/8

ahd 7are drinking water to pond therefore,x= x/2+3x/8+7, x= 7x/8+7, x-7x/8= 7, x= 1x/8=7, x=56.
