$\frac{3}{4} (x - \frac{x}{2} )$

$\frac{3}{4} \times \frac{x}{2}$

= 3x/8

Rest drinking = 9

Total Herd = Grazing + Playing + drinking

$x = \frac{x}{2} + \frac{3x}{8} + 9$

$x - \frac{x}{2} - \frac{3x}{8} = 9$

Taking LCM on L.H.S

$\frac{8x - 4x - 3x}{8} = 9$

x = 9 X 8

x = 72 deers.
