200 Litre Water was added to prepare the mixture 7 : 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say 7x Milk  & 5x water

Total Mixture

= 12x

Half of mixture = 6x

Milk = 3.5x

Water = 2.5x

Converted into 3 :1

Hence milk = (3/4)6x = 4.5x

Milk increased  = x

Let say M litre milk was required in replacement method

Then Milk Removed = (7/12)M

& Milk added = M

Net milk added = M - (7/12)M  =  5M/12

5M/12 = x

=> 5M = 12x

=> M = 12x/5

M = 240 L

=> 240 = 12x/5

=> 12x = 1200

7: 5 mixture was = 1200 Litre

Milk = 700 Litre

Water = 500 Litre

7:3  converted into 7 : 5 by adding water

700 litre  milk was there in 7 : 3 ratio

=> 300 Litre water was initially in mixture

Hence 200 Litre Water was added to prepare the mixture 7 : 5
