Half the perimeter of a rectangular garden is 36m. if the length is 4m more than its width. Find the dimensions of garden

from question we can deduce that one side is x and second side is 4+ x then
by perimeter formula sum of sides equal to 72 the dimensions is 16×29

here is your answer

according to the question,
half the perimeter of a rectangular garden = 36m
so perimeter of the garden= 2×36m = 72m

let its weidth = b = x
then its length = l = x + 4

2 (l + b) = perimeter
=>2( x + 4 + x) = 72
=> 2x + 4 = 72/2
=> 2x = 36 - 4
=> x = 32/2
= 16m

hence length of the rectangular garden is x =16m and breadth is x+4 = 16+4 =20m.
