Half the perimeter of a rectangular garden whose length is 4 m more than it's width,is 36m.Find the dimensions of the garden.

The perimeter of the rectangle is 72 m

Let the width be x.

So, the length is x+4.

Then, 2(x+x+4) = 72

or, 2x= 36–4

or, x= 16

So the length of the rectangle is 16+4= 20m and the width is 16 m.
