and another number be y

According to question :

Case 1 : x + y/2 = 5

x + y = 10 ...(1)

Case 2 :

3( x - y ) = 12

x - y = 12/3 =4 ....(2)

x = 10 - y ( from (1) ) ...(3)

putting value of x in (2)

10 - y - y = 4

10 - 2y = 4

2y = 6

y = 6/2 = 3

putting value of y in (3)

x = 10 - 3 = 7

the one number = x = 7
and another number = y = 3
