Whenever we place a corrent carrying conductor in a maganatic field, there is a deflection of the charge carring due to influence of maganatic field in the conductur body. We call this typical phenomenon as hall effect. Edwin hall in 1879 had first observed the phenomenon , and hence as we call it as hall effect.
