Sewage lines helps the passage of sewage wastes into the main sewer , otherwise the dumps would get accumulated in households and might overflow.

So, this avoids any kind of environmental hazards and pollution. But, when new residential complex or factories are built in an area it involves digging of the Earth and setting up of many things which might impact on sewage lines.

Also, any leak or whole in the sewage line will block the passage of the sewage wastes. Hence this will lead to huge accumulation and bursting of pipes ultimately leading to environmental hazards.
