Geo Tropism

-Geo troprism is an tropic movement that is shown by plants

due to gravitational pull of earth.

-Also known as Gravitropism.

-It is tropic movement as the response given by the plants is with respect to stimulus or stimuli.

-Example=>

Geotropism can be seen in plants.

-It is of two types =>

1)Positive Geotropism

-It is the movement of roots towards the gravity.So the roots always tends to grow downwards.

Example => Root.

2)Negative Geotropism

-It is the movement of shoots towards sunlight i.e movement of plant away from soil.

Example => Shoot.

Like, growth of root of a plant is because of the geotropism.

Positive geotropism is observed when growth of plant part is towards the stimulated stimuli like growth of root. Whereas, negative geotropism is observed when plant part responds in different direction of generated stimuli like, growth of stem.
