ECTOCARPOUS: it is a brown algae that shows haplodiplontic life cycle.
POLYSIPHONIA: it is a ride I'll get that also shows have to diplomatic life cycle.

Kelps such as laminaria, macrocystis. also show haplo diplontic life cycle.

so mainly algae possess haplodiplontic life cycle.

Hope this helps you !

RahulMahata: bryophytes have free living gametophyte as a dominant phase and pteridophytes has free-living sporophyte as a dominant phase
RahulMahata: NCERT textbook won't explain you briefly
Gurleen001: I now got ur point that why were you stressing that these are not haplo diplontic because they show a certain elongation in their phases .thats why some authors do not put them in category of diplontic or haplontic.but that's not correct...!in those cases it's called haplo diplontic by scientific workers .like we have here Hetero morphic haplo diplontic life cycle
RahulMahata: Yeah by the way nice to meet u
Gurleen001: Hope you understood it now!
RahulMahata: I am happy that you too understood
Gurleen001: One more point to add in some books it's also mentioned diplo haplontic and haplo diplontic based on the situation that which stage is longer.both the phase are multicellular in bryophytes and pteridophytes
Gurleen001: Nice to have a sound discussion with you!
RahulMahata: Same here
Gurleen001: Hope for more logical and rational discussions!
