Today's Home Work
1. An object of 6cm is placed at 60cm infront of a concave mirror of radius of curvature 40cm. Find position and size of image.
2. Calculate the magnification if height of real image is three times larger than object.

Answer:

In a concave mirror,

u=60cm, R=40cm

f=R/2=20cm

From the mirror equation,

1/f=1/u+1/v

1/v=1/20-1/60

1/v=1/30

v=30cm

When the object is placed beyond 'C', then the image obtained between'f' and 'C'....

The image is real, inverted and magnified image......

b) Magnification,m=hi/ho

m=3ho/ho=3
