The burning of fossil fuel gives out harmful compounds like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. These substances will rise terribly high into the atmosphere, wherever they combine and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form a lot of acidic pollutants, called air pollution.

The increasing demand of fossil fuels is one of the biggest threat to environment.

  • The burning of fossil fuels releases sulphurdioxide, carbonmonoxide, nitrogendioxide, carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which leads to global warming and pollution of air ,water and land.

  • GREEN HOUSE EFFECT: Burning of fossil fuels causes release of large amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.CO2 traps solar radiation in the atmosphere and causes green houseeffect.which keeps the earth warm specially in winters.

  • GLOBAL WARMING: Increased green house effect causes MORE TRAPPING OF SOLAR RADIATIONS BY CARBON DIOXIDE AND OTHER GASES AND CAUSE rise in the earth’s temperarture causing global warming.

  • Global warming leads to Melting of polar Ice Caps. Rise in ocean level and submerging of low lying areas. Changes in the weather pattern.
