Let us assume that 100 soldiers can eat ration food(x) in 10 days

So for one day the food that they eaten is x/10

So for two days 2*(x/10)=x/5

So remaining food is x-(x/5)=4x/5

Let this food will be eat by 160 soldiers in ‘d’ days

If one soldier can eat 1/(10*100) th food per day then for

160 soldiers and ‘d’ days =160*d*1/(10*100)=d*4/25 th of food

This must be equal to remaining 4x/5 food

Therefore d*4/25=4/5=> d=5 days
