Let us take any two consecutive natural numbers. Say the two consecutive natural numbers are 15 and 16.
15 = 1, 3, 5 and 15
16 = 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16
We can see that out of the factors of 15 and 16, their only common factor s 1. If we take any other two consecutive natural numbers, their H.C.F. will also be 1.
Therefore, we can say that the H.C.F. of any two consecutive natural numbers will always be 1.
