We know that the product of two numbers is equal to the product of their Lowest Common Multiple and Highest Common Factor, ⤵
↪ I number × II number = HCF × LCM
So,
⏩ Product of 14 and other number = product of 2 and 84
▶ 14 × other number = 2 × 84
↪ I number × II number = HCF × LCM
So,
⏩ Product of 14 and other number = product of 2 and 84
▶ 14 × other number = 2 × 84

The other number is 12 if HCF and LCM of two numbers are 2 and 84 and one number is 14.
Given :
HCF of two numbers = 2
LCM of two numbers = 84
One number = 14
To find : Other number
Formula used :
HCF × LCM = first number × Other number
SOLUTION :
Step1 : Substitute the value of HCF , LCM and other number in the above formula:
One number = 14 , HCF of two numbers = 2 , LCM of two numbers = 84
As we know that,
HCF × LCM = One number × Other number
2 × 84 = 14 × Other number
Other number =
Other number =
Other number = 12
Hence, the other number is 12.
