HCl, HNO3, C2H5OH, C6H12O6 all contain H atoms but 3 only HCI and HNO3 show acidic character. Why ?

Those compounds which dissociate H^{+} ions when current is passed through them are called as acids.Though C2H5OH ,C6H12O6 contain hydrogen atoms they do not dissociate into  H^{+} ions. So,they are not acids and thus do not show acidic character.
But HCl and HNO3 dissociate into H^{+} ions. So,they show acidic character.
FROM THIS WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT ALL THE COMPOUNDS CONTAINING HYDROGEN AR NOT ACIDS.

HCl and HNO3show acidic character because they both contain H +ions which tells us that it is an acid.
