Those compounds which dissociate ions when current is passed through them are called as acids.Though C2H5OH ,C6H12O6 contain hydrogen atoms they do not dissociate into ions. So,they are not acids and thus do not show acidic character.
But HCl and HNO3 dissociate into ions. So,they show acidic character.
FROM THIS WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT ALL THE COMPOUNDS CONTAINING HYDROGEN AR NOT ACIDS.

HCl and HNO3show acidic character because they both contain H +ions which tells us that it is an acid.
